Volkswagen Sales 2010 With World Record

Volkswagen will have a milestone to remember 2010. The year was a record global sales for the German automaker with 4.5 million vehicles. This is a growth of 13.9% compared to 2009 as well as a significant market expansion in nearly entirely countries where it operates.

In Russia, the fastest growing market sales 58,900 units, up 49.1% over 2009. In the nation with the largest number of units sold, China, the record was 256,800 vehicles (20.3% on 2009). Across North America, sales reached 406,400 units of VW, 17.9% more than last year. Since South America grew by 2.9%, with a total of 756,500 units.

Europe was the only continent to register a drop in sales compared to 2009. UNIAD were 1.55 million in 2010, down 1.2%. In general, the European market fell 2.5% in sales. Overall, the most sales model is Volkswagen Golf.
