Jaguar Plans To Rival The BMW 3 Series

In the hands of Indian automaker Tata, the Jaguar redo plans for the future. And in it there is a sedan and a coupe of small size. For small, we mean an input model in the premium segment that direct fight with the BMW 3 Series and Audi A4, among others.
The strategy is not new: the commencement of the last decade, still under the concern of Ford, Jaguar has committed a sin by launching the X-Type, a sedan derived from the Mondeo. Without the strain of the brand, the model was a failure and left the U.S. market in 2007.

Now the strategy is different, as explained Adrian Hallmark, head of the new brand: “we establish cars with stylish and cutting edge technology that puts the Jaguar where it deserves to be,” he told trade journal Automotive News. “With the X-Type, we offered a small vehicle and low discount absurd,” recognized Hallmark.

Apart from details, the executive explained that the idea is to have a coupe to take concern of brand image and a sedan to provide production volume. But the process is still at the beginning: “In four years we will see the first release,” he predicted. A long time for a brand that currently depends on a modern sedan like the XF, some other luxury sedan, the XJ and a large coupe XK.
