BMW and PSA Peugeot-Citroen Joint Venture In Hybrid Vehicles
After working on some projects together, BMW and PSA Peugeot – Citroën proclaimed the creation of a joint venture dedicated to developing and manufacturing components for hybrid vehicles. Call Electrification BMW Peugeot Citroen , the new division will work in the manufacture of batteries, electric machinery, generators, chargers and other components, and systems management software hybrids.
With this initiative, the brands are expected to make a pattern in the components used and establish a European platform of development and area studies. The joint venture begins in the second quarter of 2011 and the first vehicles to use technology developed will be unveiled in 2014.
