Porsche 918 Spyder Confirms Hybrid For 2013
The era of supercars hybrids are getting. Porsche, which this year is starting tests with the 918 RSR at the racetrack, confirmed that produce the 918 Spyder. Porsche also warns that the engine of the Spyder 918 is an gathering version that is optimized by the RSR in the endurance races this year. Porsche says the 918 Spyder follow inspired by the concept unveiled at Geneva in 2010, but will also weigh the classic 917, which won several competitions in the 1960s and 1970s. The name “Spyder” is a reference configuration of the vehicle body: convertible for two people. A sketch of the interior anticipates a little cabin, which has elements typical of the brand, as the tachometer central components with more futuristic aspect featured in a floating panel.
Besides the verification of the production of the 918 Spyder, to celebrate the fact that Porsche has launched a special edition for the 911 Turbo S called “Edition 918 Spyder.” Offered in coupe and convertible versions, the series comes with unique visual elements that call attention to the strong green color painting the brake calipers and interior of the car. The engine is the 3.8 boxer with 530 hp turbocharger. Only 918 units will be produced online.
