Hybrid and Electric Car on Chinese Market

China will start an examination plan to subsidize cars powered using option energy in some cities, the local newspaper said. The option energy means electric car and hybrid vehicles.

Each of individual buyer for an electric car, government will give maximum of 60,000 Yuan (USD 8,780) and maximum of 50,000 Yuan (USD 7,350) for hybrid car. According to the local newspaper, useable cities to subsidize are Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Chongqing and Wuhan.

The government wants to increase yearly production capacity of hybrid and electric vehicles turn five hundred thousand units by 2011 to reduce conventional vehicle in order to increase environment quality. China as the world largest market especially in auto is confidence to reach the target. Toyota Motor Corporation and BYD Co. and the other auto maker will introduce their new products of electric and hybrid vehicle models.

To response on the government program, a six hundred million Yuan (USD 88 Million) venture value has been signed by BYD Co. and Daimler AG, Germany to develop electric vehicle in China. Shenzhen is act as BYD Co located in Hong Kong.

BYD Co is schedule to launch the E6 electric car in the United States and in Europe next year. The company has signed an understanding and promise that in 2010 will deliver minimum 560 units of electric car to taxi company in Shenzhen. The other joint venture understanding has been signed with Volkswagen AG in 2009 to develop hybrid cars and lithium battery for electric car.

Next coming in China is General Motors Co. plans to sell Volt plug-in and the other Japanese auto maker Nissan Motors Co also plans to sell their LEAF electric car.
