Chevrolet, Cadillac, Buick and GMC, working through OnStar, are developing mobile applications that can be separately checked on the Apple iPhone and phones with Google Android OS.
Using a cell phone, a vehicle of functions can be controlled independently of the distance that the driver of the car. For example, travelers who forget to lock the car at the airport can send a signal lock from inside the terminal
Besides the control functions of the vehicle, OnStar subscribers can obtain diagnostic information on their phones, as the level of the fuel tank, keeping the oil life, tire pressure recommendation and medium miles per gallon performance.
OnStar communicating promotes market range of mobile applications. In January the company proclaimed an order for smartphone owners of Chevrolet Volt will let them control the collection and perform other functions remotely.
He also proclaimed agreements with Google that will permit users of cars to select destinations using Google Maps and then send these destinations OnStar turn-by-turn navigation service.
