BMW Sales Grow 9.1% Driven by China

BMW Sales Grow 9.1%

BMW, the largest maker of luxury cars in the world, had sales growth in July this year of 9.1%. The high demand for the cars of the brand was boosted by sales in China, USA and UK. Deliveries made by BMW came to 119,982 cars and trucks last month, increasing the accumulated gain in the year to 12.5%, or 816,014 units sold. The figures were proclaimed by the German automaker said Monday.

“We’re benefiting not only the recovery of the global economy, but also the positive response from customers for our vehicles,” said BMW sales chief, Ian Robertson. His forecast is that sales remain strong for the coming months.

Major BMW Sales Area

The main explanation for the positive period of several automakers, including BMW, is in China. BMW’s sales in the Asian giant rose 82% to 13,852 cars, while in Europe and the U.S. supplies had increased by 10% to 23,390 vehicles. In Europe, the United Kingdom was the most contributed to the surging sales of the German mark, with 26% high and 11 748 units sold.

BMW and Other Automakers Sales

Besides BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen and luxury-car division Audi also showed a gain in sales, riding the wave of China. The nation now represents the largest market for cars in the world. The automakers also experiencing a boom in sales in the U.S. and Europe. BMW raised its sales target for this year. BMW is now working with the market forecast of more than 1.4 million units.
