Nissan Leaf Is Elected Car Of The Year In Europe
After being among 32 out strong and beat six rivals, Nissan Leaf was named Car of the Year in Europe. The jury of 59 specialist journalists from 23 countries, totaled 257 points for the Japanese electric. In second place was the Alfa Romeo Giulietta with 248 points while the Opel Meriva, third, totaled 244.
The other finalists were the Ford C-Max (224 points), DS3 Citroen (175), Volvo S60 (145) and Dacia Duster r (132). “This award recognizes the pioneering zero emission rate in the Leaf, which is competitive even with conventional cars in terms of security, performance, space, and drive ability. It also reflects the dedication of Nissan as an innovative brand with a clear vision and mobility” said Carlos Ghosn, president of Renault-Nissan. The prize won by Nissan Leaf is the first delivered to a fully electric car.
