We’ve already seen some pretty decent spy shots of Hyundai’s facelifted Genesis Coupe, expected to come shortly carrying a 2013-model-year designation. But this low-res image from TheCarBlogger.net appears to be our first official look at the car, sitting low and mean on a racetrack.
The outgoing Genesis Coupe’s front end was never exactly a model of simplicity, but this new one has a lot more going on, with an aggressive hexagonal grille and fascia opening that cribs from its new kid brother, the 2012 Veloster. There are headlamps and LED detailing on what looks like a higher-spec model, and a rather bizarre vented hood with an nearly whaletail-like pattern.
We can’t see too much of the bodyside, but it appears Hyundai has given the car new split five-spoke wheels. The model’s plunging rear quarter window appears unchanged.
No official word yet on what’s under the hood, but we’re expecting the two four- and six-cylinder power, as before, but we have reason to trust that a supercharged V6 is in the cards. Thanks to SEMA and Rhys Millen Racing, we now know that Hyundai’s stonking 5.0-liter Tau V8 fits in the engine bay, but we’d be surprised if an eight-cylinder coupe shows up when the model is revealed at this January’s Detroit Motor Show.
UPDATE: Apparently the image above is likely a Photoshop, despite very much like the spy shots we’ve already been shown. Even so, it appears to give a realistic view of the 2013 model.

The journey has been arduous and fraught with disappointment, but it appears we’ve finally reached our destination. Welcome to The Golden Age of Compact Motoring. Gone are the days of mostly inexpensive and poorly executed C-segment entries. Ye Olde “It’s the Honda Civic, Toyota Corolla and everybody else” mindset is finally history, too. All of a sudden, new car buyers can select from a bumper crop of smart new motors, including the all-new Civic, the 2011 Chevrolet Cruze, the 2012 Ford Focus, the larger and more low-cost 2011 Volkswagen Jetta and the constantly entertaining Mazda3. And that’s not entirely – there’s also a new wildcard in the compact segment, the 2011 Hyundai Elantra.
While entries like the Cruze and Focus have garnered lots of attention, the Elantra has quietly established itself as a worthy option in this suddenly competitive segment. The redesigned Hyundai caught our attention with its expressive styling, an improved cabin and 40 miles per gallon highway rating. It sounds like a winning game plan to us, but does this revitalized Hyundai live up to its impressive stat sheet? We spent a week with an Elantra Limited to find out for ourselves.

Hyundai Veloster Sports coupe will be launched in Detroit
Hyundai confirms it will launch Hyundai Veloster sports coupe in Detroit (USA), which opens its doors to the public from 15 to 23 January 2011. This is the second model of the genre of Korean brand, after the Genesis, whose main competitor is the Volkswagen Scirocco.
Done on the same platform as the hatchback i30 average, the Veloster will lure and the fact of having two ports on the right and one on the left. Little is known so far around the technical characteristics of the Hyundai Veloster, unless the system has dual clutch transmission.
