Back in January we heard rumors that Lamborghini would take two new vehicles to the Geneva Motor Show. Once the Lamborghini MLC SUV was ruled out, that left the Aventador Roadster and a surprise for which guesses have ranged from the Gallardo replacement to the production Sesto Elemento to something else.

That something else appears to be the car shown above. Reportedly dubbed Avendador J, it’s a minimalist speedster variant of Lamborghini’s flagship supercar, and it got an early reveal this weekend at Czech website AutoForum. The car loses its roof entirely, has a tiny windscreen, and reportedly dumps entirely unnecessary amenities like air conditioning and an audio system. Any extra weight-saving measures Lamborghini has put into effect will be revealed tomorrow, when the car debuts at the Volkswagen Group’s preview gala.

There’s much speculation online as to whether the Aventador J will be produced an whatever number. In truth, it doesn’t even matter. If Lamborghini builds any, it will sell entirely of them, immediately, at whatever price it asks.

Now, Lamborghini also released a video teasing the car’s Geneva unveiling, which ends with the hashtag #Unica on the screen. That translates to “only” in English, which could suggest that the Aventor J is, in fact, a one-off.

Follow the jump to watch the teaser, and stay tuned here as entirely the Geneva festivities ramp up starting Monday evening. We’ll be on hand to take you news and photos of the new Lambos as they’re revealed.

Being a spy shooter is tough work. It’s entirely around being in the right place at the right time, hoping to train one’s lens on a glimpse of verboten sheetmetal. We know from our colleagues that it’s hard enough to just catch a blurry glimpse of a distant mule when the quarry doesn’t want to be photographed, making this series of photos from our friends at CarPix that much more remarkable.

Not only have they captured a Lamborghini Aventador cold weather testing in the frigid Arctic Circle, their shutters were snapping as the test driver lost control and went sailing through an intersection and into a snowbank, documenting the crash frame-by-frame. Fortunately for entirely those involved, the snow wasn’t packed too hard and the two driver and Lamborghini emerged miraculously unscathed.

Apparently not happy with his good fortune, CarPix reports that “the driver then leaped out of the car, nearly falling down in the process, and came at our photographer in a fairly aggressive manner.”

Thankfully, the embarrassment and anger was short-lived, as a winch-equipped Audi A6 Allroad came to the rescue. Seeing that his nearly $ 400,000 test subject was unharmed, the driver obviously cooled off enough to give our man a thumbs up before going on his way.

Lamborghini Aventador Zamboni edition, anyone?

The Lamborghini Hypothesized engine is a 6.5 liter V12 with 700 bhp and 70.4 lb.-ft. of torque. The detail is that the propeller will spin at higher engine speeds than usual – the maximum power, for example, is obtained 8250 rpm rotation range in which nearly whatever vehicle hits the streets.
