Ssangyong Crossover Korando C Fourth Generation
The fourth-generation Ssangyong crossover Korando C will useable soon after its debut at the Paris Salon. With design by studio Giorgetto Giugiaro, the model has a 2.0 diesel engine of 172 horsepower with optional six-speed manual transmission or automatic.
The Korando is offered with a choice of 4×2 and 4×4 drive smart, which distributes traction between the wheels automatically depending on need. The model is also equipped with ABS brakes, ESP, electric power steering, EPS, six airbags and headrests Isofix standard with restraint and active head-on collision.
Mahindra to purchase 70% of Ssanyong
The Indian automaker Mahindra is going to pay the equivalent of US $378 million to control Ssangyong. But purchasing 70% stake in the Korean manufacturer has yet to be approved by the creditors of the company. With this acquisition, the largest Indian manufacturer of utility plans to expand its business into other markets and increase its product line. If it approves the deal should be accomplished next March 2011.
Ssang Yong Will Release New SUV Korando C in Australia
Ssyang Yong, South Korean auto maker is preparing the New Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) that called C200 Concept or known as Korando C 2011. It is planned that the car will be exported to various countries in Asia, Australia and Europe.
New SUV Korando C will be marketed in Australia in late 2010. Ssangyong Australia General Manager Tony Barber, said that the Korando is an automotive technology innovation of the SUV that was reinforced by Ssangyong compounded with new strategy. This innovation can be viewed on the display of the product quality and consider to use environmentally friendly technology.
Korando is a SUV that uses Germany design, 2,000 cc engine and two turbochargers. The machine was capable of generating power up to 130 kilo watt (kW) and torque of 450 Newton meters (Nm).
This new SUV has more power than previous generations. The SUVs previous generation with 2,000 cc diesel engine only generates 104 kW and 310 Nm of torque.
Ssang Yong has not given official information around the machine that will be used in this new generation SUV, the supporting feature, and the level of fuel consumption and exhaust emissions.
